The first step is enrolling in our state-approved 72-hour pre-licensing course. You can complete it online at your own pace or at one of our classroom options when available. Once you finish, you’ll receive a certificate that allows you to schedule the state exam.
Most motivated students finish in 4–6 weeks, depending on how quickly they complete the coursework and schedule the exam. Some fast-track online students finish in as little as 2 weeks.
This course prepares you to take the exam, which includes Wisconsin-specific real estate law, agency relationships, contracts, property ownership, disclosures, real estate math, and more. It’s a multiple-choice test taken at a Pearson VUE testing center.

Once you pass and submit your license application with the brokerage you choose, the processing typically takes 1–2 weeks. After that, you're officially a licensed Wisconsin real estate agent and can start helping buyers and sellers.
